Off flavor in beet

I have brewed 4 batches of beer now (5 gal batches). One (a christmas ale) has turned out well. All the others have had a certain taste to them (a soapy alcohol taste) even my christmas ale had the taste to it. Any ideas on why the beer is coming out this way ?.

Are you using tap water?

Could be your water or something you are cleaning with. Check your brew notes and see what you hae done the same each time. Then change what you find.

No, i use bottled water. buy it in 2.5 gallon jugs
