Rumor out of Vegas is that there's going to be no penalty.

You know the biggest thing that has p*ssed me off? The majority of people that don't have a simple understanding of physics or thermodynamics. I'm not saying it should be in this argument but the majority of people talking have no clue what they're talking about with the pressure of the ball. Holy cr*p! I wouldn't even call it high school physics. Common sense?

I don't buy the "weather" excuse. I can easily see some sort of explanation that makes sense and doesn't make Belichick and Brady the human forms of Satan on Earth... But I'm not buying "the weather".

I'm saying it shouldn't be in the argument. It's not only general population it's people with Stanford degrees. Well, Stanford degrees that went on to the NFL. The league definitely has to revise the rule book. I like the 2 weeks up to the big game to let some injuries heal. Like AZ says, I hate the talking heads. Seriously, Brian Williams of NBC news is commenting? There's more important things for even him to report on. Put a hardcore reporter like Chris Collinsworth on this thing.

I'll be completely honest. Edelman is a ****ing beast and is much better player than Welker was.

I dunno that he is much better than Welker was... Welker just lost a step at the end from taking a beating all the time going over the middle. Edelman just has fresher legs and less concussions.

I liked Welker when he was in MIA. He was always killing us even though those teams blew. Then he went onto SD and the few times we saw him he'd kill us. One of those if you can't beat him sign him. People give the Pats a hard time about abusing Welker but he's been in the league a looooooong time. Small body types like Welker/Edelman are lucky to play long for any length of time. Good vitamins.

Yeah, in all the hand-wringing that's occurred over the de-facto swap of Amendola for Welker... not re-signing Welker has really proved to have been the right decision. He's not even close to being the same player he when he left New England, and even then he'd begun slowing down.

And Amendola - after not contributing much of anything for most of two years - is starting to make some plays.

Edelman, though - that ****er's a beast. One of my favorite 'bad' plays of the year, I think it was the Kansas City game when we the Pats got clocked, Brady threw a pick and Edelman made the tackle, clear across the field, just absolutely LIT UP the defender. Mini-Beast Mode.

So what breweries are you going to, Cape?

There are a couple little ones... Freak'n... Dubina.... Peoria Artisnal

Don't know if they are any good but we don't have a mountain of time, they're close, and look fairly small so I think they would have a better chance of being somewhere we could hang out at and maybe bullshti with the brewers a bit.

You really think so? I don't recall a whole lot of slowing down, myself - just an unfortunate drop or three. But he went to a system with several other potent downfield threats, and a QB with a penchant for exposing his receivers to getting absolutely blown up... Not all that surprising his numbers would dip, competing with all the other legit receivers (vs, you know, competing for receptions with a couple of monster TE's), or that he'd start to slow down after Manning threw him into concussion #17.

That said, I agree Edleman has become an absolute monster - especially after he was perpetually injured for his first couple years with the team. The guy's played both sides of the ball at various times, he's a really great punt returner, and he makes some damn funny Internet videos to boot. (Seriously - have you seen the Growing Pats one he put out there this week?)

33 yards a game last year. Obviously Denver has other weapons, but Welker would have been the #3 guy, at best, in New England this past season. Probably #4, with LaFell's emergence. You really think he's worth $10M/year for that?

And watching Denver this season... were there any games where he really looked like a difference-maker? He was always able to get himself open and make a play before, but just haven't seen that. He couldn't have been more invisible against the Colts. No knock against what Welker's done for so many years - but he's showing his age, and has been for a while.

You should just skip Glendale and come to San Diego. We have a couple decent breweries here...

And then you can watch the game here and not feel so bad when the Cheathawks beat the Deflateriots
