Can't believe it went this long why do so many third rate qbs get talked about on here.

Tannehill was a rookie and over performed by all means.

damn you are slow. my whole point is that their has never been ONE SEASON where so many rookies have played so well

Umm...Yeah you need to actually read what you're writing because it's not jiving.

By your own words, either Tannehill was a rookie and over performed by all means (This means he was the best or second best rookie QB) OR there has never been one season where so many rookies have played so well (Tannehill didn't exactly play all that well so let's not lump him in here with these greats).

Which one is it? If it's the second point than yes, I agree. RGIII, Wilson, and Luck vastly outplayed the basic rookie expectations and carried their teams to the playoffs. Tannehill does not even compare.

If it's the first, then you have no idea what you're talking about. He was a below league average QB, which in rookie terms means he was about average. He had up and down moments, but certainly wasn't in the conversation as a great rookie QB. Just merely average.

kinda tough to compare tannehill to RGIII, Luck and Wilson, which wasnt what i was doing at all. Still, I feel every confident going into this season with tannehill, thank god its not sanchez.

Tannehill was a rookie and over performed by all means.

Derp? It's hard to know what you're trying to say if you say one thing, and then say you meant something completely different a few posts later.

Again, with the Sanchez comments? You do realize that Tannehill is currently far closer to Sanchez's level than RGIII, Wilson, or Luck? At least Sanchez has been to the playoffs multiple times which is more than anyone can say about the Dolphins for the last decade.

As for feeling every confident (whatever that means) going into the season with Tannehill...I would suggest you put down the Dolphin kool-aid. You have ever reason to be optimistic but let's be frank, as I've already pointed out numerous times, Tannehill isn't a great QB and he hasn't proven capable of carrying a team. I wouldn't be confident of a QB that was below league average last year - that just screams homerism. You might as well say you're confident in the Vikings because of Christian Ponder....Bwahahahahaa.

unfortunately for you, weeden is also gonna out perform sanchez this year even tho you bash him. have fun at the bottom darwin

Weeden actually didn't too badly, although he really only has a limited number of years for his career to show significant improvement. I think he surprised a lot of people last year, although he was not worth a first round pick. Browns might actually surprise a lot of people this year and be competitive.

You need to try to expand your football knowledge beyond ESPN and NFL network. Sanchez comments...you're smarter than that. Christ, even my mother in law has better insight on the Jets than just "Sanchez sucks" comments. Everyone and their mother knows that.

Drew Brees is a helluva quarterback. It must REALLY suck knowing how badly he wanted to play in Miami, only to have the 'Fins tell him, "nah, we're good!"

I've got to say, I like Tannehill. I mean, let's remember what the single most important thing in life is.

ryan-tannehill-wife-lauren-credit-lost-letterman.jpg

He gets to tap that.

Even among the standards of "Wife of NFL Quarterback," that's *smoking*....

Well said. Yes, Tannehill wins the hot girlfriend contest (except, that you know Brady is banging a Victoria's secret underwear model who is worth millions of Euros herself).

You should get the Red Zone.

No gracias. I don't have ADHD.

dear lord darwin, contradict yourself much? you just said weeden played great after saying he sucked, which is it? When i said tannehill out preformed expectations, that was miami's QB situation expectations. I surely didnt expect him to come in and do what he did last year as a rookie. Miami has struggled to land a solid QB in decades so tannehill is a sigh of relief. I dont even watch espn or nfl network that much, just letting you know that the world is giving crap to the jets, not miami, so i understand your frustration of not wanted to accept this

Ol' Dookeyface Brees was pretty weak initially when he got into the NFL actually. He grew to what he is now.

Tannehill wasn't anything devastatingly awesome last year but he did grow game to game with very little cast to work with. He'll most likely never be a superstar. I'd certainly agree with that. But I think the Dolphins have a lot to hope for building on his performance last year. Considering how down in the dumps they looked coming into the draft last year, they've improved dramatically in very little time.

As for the all important picture... Dayum.

As much as it pains me to say, Weeden has a better team around him at the skill positions save his offensive line which needs a lot of work. On the other hand, with some of the tools Miami went out and got Tannehill for this year he better do well this year or the "Bust" label may start making it's journey towards him.

Im not bashing weeden, darwin was than wasnt, im not sure where he stands now (5 minutes later). The browns do have a good team this year, ive never said otherwise. Richardson is a beast and weeden is gonna have a solid year.

Weeden has two allpro Olinemen, but the other 3 suck balls.

Umm...No. I said Weeden didn't do too badly. I can see that reading comprehension is not valued by the education system in the great state of Kansas.

Man, I'm such an idiot that I didn't get that out of this:

"Tannehill was a rookie and over performed by all means."

Seriously, how could you not have been more succinct in your comments?

I dont even watch espn or nfl network that much, just letting you know that the world is giving crap to the jets, not miami, so i understand your frustration of not wanted to accept this

That's probably because the only time anyone in the world cares about the Dolphins is when they wheel out the '72 team once the last undefeated team in that particular season has lost. Then the Dolphins once again return to obscurity. Congratulations, your team is best known for a bunch of geriatrics who epitomize poor sportsmanship.

heres something you may enjoy. tannehills lowest passing yardage in a game last year was 130. Sanchez had 111, 103, 97, and 82! two of those games were against the cards and the jags! 97 yards passing against the jags?! pathetic to say the least. Tannehill also had a 431 yard game. sanchez did not come close to a 400 yard game, his highest was 328

Yawn.

The Dolphins won 7 games last season while the Jets won 6. Your statistics are meaningless. Passing yards are probably the least significant of all QB stats. Yards per pass attempt is the more important statistic - Tannehill (6.81) vs Sanchez (6.36).

When it comes to the Dolphins or the Jets, at the end of the day we're arguing about the shade and consistency of **** while overseeing the fact that it's ****.

The fact that you can only compare Tannehill to Sanchez tells me all I need to know.

New topic.

Who the hell does angel dust these days? I though Aaron Hernandez fancied himself as the new Tony Montana; apparently, his fantasy instead was to be a Hell's Angel from the 1970s.

Showing up at the Combine in February to tell your coach, "I think they're going to kill me!!".... yeah, OK.

A colleague of mine said, "Isn't PCP that stuff people take... they're trying to kill people, there's a half-dozen cops who can't bring them down, they're being tazed and not even noticing" and I was thinking... that would be one helluva PED.

Awesome. Does that mean more amazing steroided up players? Oh wait... For a moment I forgot about the PED incidents in Seattle. My bad.

Was that a Seattle PED joke, man you are original where do you get your stuff.

I think it needs to be standard in the league make it more exciting.

I'm in a bit of an opiate induced haze currently from pain killers so if you'd be so kind as to give me the handicapped bar when measuring my lameness for a few weeks I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Yea. I don't believe it's Angel Dust. No one should have been able to tackle him or stop him (Forrest Gump Style) I once saw a young skinny punk on Boston Common take on 6 cops before they threw him in the paddy wagon. Everyone had a hand on him and they couldn't wrestle him down. He then proceeded to beat the hell out of the wagon from the inside. I then asked one of the cops what the guy was on. He shook his head "Angel Dust" Even back then I was like "people still do that?"

It's a lot cheaper if you stop ****ing around with those Oxys and just start banging some heroin, bro. It's just smart, financially.

Absolutely not wouldn't be in the spirit of the thread.
