Darwin's ORIGINAL post on the matter involved YEARS in which the playoffs were reached, otherwise the number for NYJ would be 12, not 6. Hence, your fellow patriot couldn't follow logical reasoning and extrapolate what his reference numbers should be.

Othwise, GB playoff appearances would be 16, not 9. Do you follow? Or is your brain so bogged down it is having trouble keeping up? :cross:

There is no way a Patriots fan would manipulate numbers to make their team look better. No way you liar!!!

So add 6 more to playoff appearances and the Pats still beat those 3 joke teams! Ha. You guys are still crying about Spygate? Everyone was doing it, but Mangina threw Bill under the bus. Look where he is now, while Bill is the greatest coach of all time. All these pu$$y fart teams looking for excuses as to why they suck; certainly not their fault, must be the Patriots fault. The bitterness on this thread is awesome. If we sucked, there would be no hate. It's not easy being at the top for over a decade.

Edit: I actually like the Packers and don't think they're a joke.

@Punity, Ouch. I'm hurt. I'd shed a tear but alas I'm having an allergic reaction atm and it'll have to wait.

And Krov, holy @#$%. Don't go overboard with that whole best coach of all time nonsense. Jebus...

My last jab for the night. I just took this poll on nfl.com and lets just say the results didnt surprise me. You can bring up as many stats as you want Darwin but at least Miami has a QB :D discuss!

Who should the Jets start at quarterback in Week 1?
15%Mark Sanchez
22%Geno Smith
13%Greg McElroy
7%Matt Simms
44%Bring Tim Tebow back
Total Votes: 128447

So, who loves playing fantasy football. How many leagues you in? :cross:

Would you like to: suck worst, suck, suck bad, hahaha, and wtf were your options?

And @Punity, actually it was with the eyes. Maybe God was trying to save me from the drivel...

That's too bad I was hoping this thread was getting a stroke of goodluck for once this offseason.

Geez, for someone who is a self-professed Dolphins fan you sure bring up the Jets a whole lot. Admit it, you're obsessed just like the preteen girls are with Bieber. It's okay. I'm sure you can buy a 2008 Favre jersey somewhere on the interwebs.

As for Miami having a QB...that is rather debateable.

These are the statistics for two NFL QBs during the 2012 season. The first is Ryan Tennehill. The second is a mystery QB.

Tannehill
COMP: 282
ATT: 484
COMP %: 58.3%
YARDS: 3,294
TDS: 12
INT: 13
YD Per COMP: 6.81
QB Rating: 52.3

Mystery QB
COMP: 453
ATT: 246
COMP %: 54.3%
YARDS: 2,883
TDS: 13
INT: 18
YD Per COMP: 6.36
QB Rating: 23.4

Tannehill isn't significantly better than Mystery QB, and has the benefit of playing one extra game than the Mystery QB last season. Additionally, Tannehill plays for the Dolphins who no one respects. The Dolphins last good season came with a blind head coach. Also, if they played all their games in S. Florida, they would have a shot at the playoffs, but come November/December the Dolphins will choke as they always do. No worries, they'll won't suck enough and will miss out the Teddy Bridgewater and J. Clowney sweepstakes.

Thanks for proving my point. Sanchez was a championship caliber QB coming into the league and look at him now. Hes made the jets a laughing stock and has been steadily declining the past few years. Tannehill was a rookie and over performed by all means. So we didnt make the playoffs the first year with our QB and head coach. You cant build a winning franchise overnight, maybe I should be telling Rex this. As much as you guys like to hate on Miami, everyone else is already hating on the jets, not miami. its not just me darwin, watch espn or nfl network sometime

NFL to consider getting making hits at knees or below a penalty. Pretty ridiculous with all the rules on hits. My least favorite is still the moronic defenseless player rule though.

Why don't they just put flags on everyone and call it a day.

It's getting bad. Ryan Clark had a really good point about how else is a 200 pound DB suppose to stop a 260 pound TE running at full speed, and that taking options for tackling away endangers defenders.

One year starting at USC makes someone a NFL caliber championship QB? What are you smoking man?! Sanchez was a good college QB. The NFL is filled with them. It doesn't make him a good professional QB.

As for Tannehill...I think we have a very different definition of over performing. I would assume that means that Tannehill was at least the best or second best starting rookie QB. Wait, he wasn't? Who else was a better rookie QB last season? In no particular order:

- Andrew Luck
- RG III
- Russell Wilson
- Colin Kaepernick

Tannehill arguably did better than these rookie QB's last season:

- Brandon Weeden (this is much closer than I thought)

I'm excluding Nick Foles because he didn't play a full season.

If you sort the NFL QBs that qualify by QB Rating, Tannehill is 27th out of 31. Overperforming my ass! When did we start handing participation trophies to professional athletes?

when have their ever been that many good starting rookie QB's in the nfl? never. You have openly admitted that the jets suck, why are you trying to argue against it now? just accept the fact that miami has a QB that actually has potential to improve greatly and the jets have one (or four) who have potential to do worse than they already have shown to be. any other meaningless stats youd like to throw my way to help you sleep at night?

He had a year of practices and workouts and preseason games and meetings and running the scout team and everything else associated with being an NFL player. Tom Brady was just talking the other day about the huge difference between his rookie year (when BB kept him on the 53-man roster as a fourth QB) and 2011, when he was forced to play. There's a huge difference between year 1 and year 2, whether you've gotten a lot of time on the field or not.

Seriously? I just listed four rookie QBs in 2012 who vastly out performed Tannehill. Outperformed - that's how you described Tannehill.

If you want to look at other good starting rookie QBs in modern NFL histor you can look at Cam Newton, Joe Flacco, Sam Bradford, Andy Dalton (good numbers), Vince Young (that's sad), Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger, and Dan Marino. That's a combination of individual stats and team records for their rookie seasons.

You have openly admitted that the jets suck, why are you trying to argue against it now?

Umm..I'm pretty sure I'm calling out Tannehill. If he ever actually accomplishes something I'll be the first to give him his dues but the second coming of Dan Marino he is not.

Tannehill had a solid, if unimpressive, rookie season.

*Mock golf clap*

Congratulations. You have a below average NFL QB at the moment with the potential to maybe become league average someday if surrounded by the right talent. I think you need to lay off the Dolphin kool-aid for a bit and accept the reality: A nice 6-10 season looking up at the Pats with the rest of the AFC East.

Perhaps, but the speed and pressure of the game doesn't exactly translate to the practice field. But, hey if you really think that holding a clip board for a season is equivalent to actually playing a season more power to you.

Let me ask you something. If Tom Brady gets hurt this year, will Ryan Mallett be elgible for "Rookie of the Year"? I remember Matt Cassel had a helluva rookie season in his fourth year.

Quality point.

In my mind, he's a rookie regardless of whether he's sitting on the pine or not. Obviously, professionally, he's considered a player with multiple years of experience.

Yes, the film time and practice time are going to be much different from college, but I don't think the speed and challenge of the game, particularly at the QB position, translates well to the practice field or film room. There are plenty of QBs that have looked great in practice only to crumble in the game, particularly the mental aspect. Let's give Kaepernick some credit in that his first real full season as a starting QB was 2012 - In 2011, he was expected to hold the clipboard and not get in the way.

Fins - You still have three other rookie QBs that out performed Tannehill last season and a fourth that came close. When your QB is in the same conversation as Brandon Weeden as far as performance, I'd temper my public expectations for 2013.

damn you are slow. my whole point is that their has never been ONE SEASON where so many rookies have played so well, kinda tough to compare tannehill to RGIII, Luck and Wilson, which wasnt what i was doing at all. Still, I feel every confident going into this season with tannehill, thank god its not sanchez.

unfortunately for you, weeden is also gonna out perform sanchez this year even tho you bash him. have fun at the bottom darwin

I've got to say, I like Tannehill. I mean, let's remember what the single most important thing in life is.

He gets to tap that.

Even among the standards of "Wife of NFL Quarterback," that's *smoking*....
