Oak barrel -> foeder conversion experience

Does anyone have experience converting an oak barrel into a small format foeder? Specifically I'm interested in the parts list and the process of installing the TC ports.

Yup - saw that and that's my basis to start. I wanted to explore more, since I saw one comment (and others around the webz) suggested a specific barrel tap (like this or this), with the rationale that it has threads more suited to sealing up the oak interface, as opposed to the 1.5" NPT threads.
