I am looking at a recipe for a nut brown ale and it calls for .5 lbs of carastan malt but my LHBS doesn't have it. What would be a good substitute?
The recipe is:
6 lbs light extract syrup
1 lbs dextrin malt
.5 lbs carastan malt
6 oz. brown malt
4 oz. crystal malt
2 oz. black patent malt
2 oz. chocolate malt
1 oz. willamette hops
1 tsp. irish moss
wyeast 1056
6 oz. corn sugar
