My second brew's been in the keg for a week. When I kegged it it had a slight fruity taste, which I'm not to keen on but I thought oh well variety is the **** of life. I thought it may tone down, mellow out if left. I've just sampled it now and I'm not sure if I'm being paranoidbut I'm sure I can taste the dreaded turps tatse. It's only my second brew so I've not tasted it before.

Is it time to ditch it so I can use the keg for an up and coming brew?

You might try adding some camden tablets to try killing anything there, but at least give it another week.

I had a similar problem. Ruined 3 or 4 batches before I figured out it was from the rubber in the keg and not an infection. Replaced all the gaskets and never had a problem since.

Orfy- Do you mean that it's been in the primary for a week, the secondary for a week, or kegged for a week ?. If it's been in the keg for a week, give it a couple of days. Beer is magic. It changes from day to day, week to week. Give it time. All sins will be forgiven. :cross:

1 week Primary, 2 week Secondary, 1 week keg.

I'll leave it a few days and taste it then.
