I have been lurking on this site for a days before I started my first batch of wine (welches concentrate) I used 9 cans concentrate,9lbs sugar my hydrometer (not sure how to use it) is on the 20 mark below the 1.100 so my question is will this be to sweet to start the yeast? :confused Any advice appreciated.

I'm not sure what the "20 mark below the 1.100" means- if you mean 1.120, yes, that's too much sugar.

I guess that's what I was trying to say.should I take some out and add a little water. thanks

Can you get another concentrate and mix it with the first and water to double the volume. Your sugar might be about right then.

Thanks for help guys and gals I took some out added about 5 cups water that took the SG back to 1.095. I will start a 1 gal batch in the morn. guess a 1 gal batch might have been a good place to start in the first place:D I always go overboard when I start something new.
Patrick if would have thought of that sooner I would have tried it. Thanks again Gotta luv HomeBrewTalk.
