Hi all, I just got a home brewing kit from St. Nick this year and made my beer yesterday. Found this site from googling questions about the fermentation process (didn't expect foaming in my blowoff tube), but it seems things are going well so far. Hopefully my first batch will be ready in time for Superbowl Sunday, and may even be drinkable. ;)

Congrats, hope it goes well! I' m a novice brewer myself, working on my second batch. The brewing process is great fun and I wish you the best.

Thanks, I'm making the "everyday IPA" from brooklyn brew shop. Its supposed to be a session type IPA, which will work out well on a marathon drinking day like superbowl sunday. :tank: It was an all grain kit with columbus and cascade hops. I'm fighting the urge to visit my local brew shop and picking up a 2nd carboy and supplies, I should probably wait at least until I bottle to start another batch. Instagram photo of the process

Welcome to the addiction. I would recommend that you think about getting that second brew started. It looks like you are doing 1 gallon batches, in which case you will be getting about a six pack from each batch. Trust me, it will go fast and you will want to have something in the pipeline to go to when it is gone. During my brewing season (Nov to Apr), I will typically have at least two or three carboys (I do 10 l, ~2.5 gal batches) going constantly with two or three clean and ready to be put to work.

Welcome to the HomeBrewing scene from Wrentham, MA. Just remember to keep it simple for your first few batches. Enjoy and hopefully I'll see you at the brew shop in Weymouth in the near future. :mug:

Awesome, I grew up in Wrentham and my office is in the center of town. I currently live in North Attleboro. I was thinking about checking out "The Witches Brew" shop in Foxboro.

Maybe I'll pick up some more gear and start a new batch this week. Thanks for the encouragement everyone. :rockin:

Good luck from plymouth...started with that exact kit several years ago. Let us know if any questions pop up and there is even a thread on tips for that kit out there
