Hi,

I bottled two batch of beer there is two weeks ago. I taste it just for fun today. Hefeweisen has a good spark but my irish stout dosent spark at all.
I did the same process, using 8g/L of corn sugar at bottling.

Is it normal?

Thank

Fermentation and the resulting production of CO2 are a process done by yeast. You pitch the yeast into wort and from then on it is all on their schedule, not yours. Sometimes they work fast, sometimes slow. As long as you create the conditions for them to be happy, you get the nice results. A slight difference in temperature can slow the yeast.

If by spark you mean the heading, sometimes my stouts don't produce much heading. A hefeweizen, having wheat as part of the recipe, should have great heading due to the proteins that the wheat bring.

Not all beer styles should be carbonated at the same level. A hefe should be more carbonated than a stout.
I also find that stouts take a bit longer to carbonate. At least in my experience.
