No CO2 kegging idea

So half the beer I had has gone into a keg with 100g of sugar for 10 litres (I'll post the maths later - shooting for 2.6 vols) and I am just waiting to bottle the rest now. The keg was done last night as I have a spigot on my fermenter to make it easy and it seems to have carbed up a bit now (I shook it gently to try release some CO2 to help seal it up - then though about oxidation, oh well we'll see in a couple of weeks)

So my reg is still busted and looks like it will be a while till I can get it fix/a new one so.......

soooooo........... last night I thought that I would check exactly where my reg was leaking. Now it was given to me by my old man after it had been sitting round for 5+ years collecting dust and I had it modified with a "pin" place in the stem as I am using a pin valve cylinder till I can buy a bigger one. It had a nylon washer that I lost after (or so I thought) it started leaking. I had a couple of spare orings that were the perfect size so put one of those on and left it for a couple of days.
So last night I thought what if the leak is actually from the reg-cylinder seal becasue the oring is not squished enough, I put in a second oring and tighten it up and surprise, surprise the gush of CO2 reduce to more of a dribble of CO2. Drilled out a nylon washer to fit and no leaking at all!
Moral of the story, don't be an idiot.... I mean dont assume anything and always make sure that any changes you have made are suitable.

To make up for my stupidness I will continue to see if this will work, I poured about another gallon from my other keg with no gas and I think I need to drop down to 4mm hose instead of 5mm to get a bit more back pressure.
Cheers all and I will keep this updated!

So it's update time again....
I just weighed the keg and since I reackon it has only about a litre left so I thought this would be a good time to tell you its story, details below:
As above primed with 100g sugar for 10 litres then,
Hot water cupboard - 23 PSI @ approx 22 deg C for a few weeks....
Fridge - dropped to about 20 PSI @ about 6 deg C after a few days.....
then I got restless and tried it out and it was awesome (I changed my lines down to 10' of 4 mm tube)
Now it is at 7.5 PSI @ 6 deg C with only a litre left so that puts it nearly spot on as per my calculations (which I must post sometime).
It has been pretty good, a bit of a weird taste to it but the bottles taste the same so I put it down to the brew not the method!
So all in all I would say success, I just need to get better a brewing (i.e. get out of can and kilo kits!)
The pour at the end is a bit slow but it's not really a deal breaker for me :D
