I've got two main hobbies, drag racing and brewing beer. Horsepower&Hops is life. I've been brewing extract for a few years now, just recently built a kegerator in my shop. Looking forward to learning more from the great members on this forum, perhaps stepping up to all-grain in the future. Prost!

I was into old school stock cars & muscle cars myself when I was young. Helped my son get a 40th anniversary Mustang GT recently. Rare guardsman blue-like color too! You'll find all the help you need here! Lots of info to search as well. Hops&horsepower might've been a good user name?...nasdarovie! :mug:

Welcome to the hobby, and the group, from CO :mug:

I've been lusting all over the Hellcat- but it's not compatible with CO winters for a single-car person!

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas, Happy Thanksgiving! Just finished kegging a scotch ale, and bottling a small batch of it with oak cubes and sea salted caramel. Looking forward to enjoying some good food and washing it down with a few homebrews today. The car I race is a 1970 El Camino that I have owned for 15 years. I've turned every nut and bolt on it myself. It has gotten quicker/faster every year since, now has run bests of 6.05@115 in the 1/8 mile and 9.50@141 in the 1/4. It's very heavy, almost 2 tons, so it takes a lot of horsepower to get there. A nitrous injected big block that makes between 900-1000 depending on the tune-up. Here's a couple pics.

Reminds me of one of my two auto tech instructors in high school. He had a '67 Ranchero with white interior & this candy lime-looking paint. Nice. I like the wheelie in your pic. Not bad for 2 tons...must have great weight transfer?

Thanks. Yeah it has taken a lot of geometry plotting front and rear to get the transfer and traction. Although most of the components are aftermarket, the suspension is all in the factory locations, and only a 10" tire is used. Just for comparison sake, here are some other stats from the track. 0-60MPH in 1.6 seconds, 2.1g's pulled on launch, and the one that is staggering to me is at the 60' mark, the car is traveling 55MPH. That is some serious acceleration! Its a blast. I'm getting ready to brew a single hop(Simcoe) Session IPA today. Mmmmmm hops.

I miss my cobra's headlights searching for enemy aircraft! Highooooo tinfoil! awaaaay! When outta the past come the thundering hoofbeats...;)

Winston Salem here. I have been brewing all grain for 3 years or so. Let me know if you have any questions on the process.

'Preciate it titansvol. I lived in Winston up until about 6 months ago, and still work for the city there.
