Hi I am brewing on the rocks mixed berry cider its been going for 12 days now and it appears that it has stopped fermenting I think I popped the top for the first time and no co2 bubbles anywere I took a reading on the hydrometer reads 1.026 also forgot to take an OG sorry any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

Tim.

Bubbles of any kind are not a good indicator of fermentation. At 1.026, depending on your yeast and other ingredients, I would expect it to not be finished. Twelve days also isn't really enough time, but especially if you're still sitting at 1.026.

What was the recipe?

Was just the on the rocks kit 2 ltrs of boiling water then added the provided cocentrate syrup in the tin top up with water add 1.3kg of sugar ended up with 1.8kg of sugar
Add yeast stir apply the lid then air lock and be patient.
Thanks.

Tim.

If you are eager to see if it is stopped or not... take another reading tomorrow to see if its climbing down

I will take a reading tomorrow to see what's happening if its moved then I'm cush if not will I try to restart it? Or just wait it out

Thanks.

Hmm.. you could try and wait.. its the safest. When i was brewing mead for the first time, i had some problem with stuck fermentation. But thats due to lack of nutrients in honey. When i racked the mead onto fruits in 2nd ferm.. its started fermenting as crazy. Since you are brewing for kit it shouldt be a problem to ferment out. But like all others say. be patient young one ;)

Thank you songe I am young and new to brewing so I am very eager to see what the final result is I will wait and try to forget for a few days I also haves 1gallon apple going atm which is looking very happy that should b done in about 5 days.

Thanks.

Check your local supermarket or farm stand. Just make sure that the juice/cider has no potassium sorbate or any other preservatives besides vitamin c (ascorbic acid). Try whole foods or trader joe's if you have one nearby.
