Hello all, excited to get started in the forums. I am getting ready to make a couple other posts, newbie questions, and the dreaded is my batch spoiled, but wanted to introduce myself first.

First and foremost I love beer, suppose that's why I'm here. I consider myself to have an advanced pallatte and love a good complex beer. I don't discriminate, I like all varieties, bitter, fruit, etc, but lean towards a good dark stout as one of my favorite styles. I do however avoid cheap yellow beer like the plague, Bud, Coors, Miller, etc are only drinkable in extreme emergencies. Like most of you, I'm sure, I am often reffered to as a beer snob by my friends, who usually love to see what I'm drinking "tonight", as I usually never have the same beer on back to back evenings. I'm well traveled and cultured having spent over 180 days per year, over the last 10 years, traveling all over the US for work. Because of all the travel and my affinity for Microbreweries I've had the pleasure of tasting many wonderful, and sometimes strange brews.

I am new to brewing for the most part, however I've had some experience over the last couple years with the Mr. Beer 8.5qt kit. I've had some good brews come out of it, and some not so good ones, right now I have a Raspberry Honey Wheat ale in the fermenter. I am however very new to the 5gal kits and have been looking at the forums hoping to go into my first batch with a good foundation of knowledge. I purchased my kit from Midwest Brewing and am just waiting on my Wort chiller to arrive (hopefully today) so I can get started.

I look forward to talking with you guys and taking in some of your obviously superior knowledge and pointers.

Hello and welcome from another noob! Hope your batch isn't spoiled. I had a scare with some yeast that was letting off sulfur dog farts in primary, but the brew was fine thankfully.
