Hi everyone

I recently discover this amazing forum, im a Electronic Engineer
my name is Nett, i live in Cucuta-Colombia, 29 years old,
love to smoke cigars, listen music and drink BEER! :mug:

In my country is hard to find all the stuff to make beer
but i do some extremely grotesque brewing before
now i buy some stuff in the USA to make a BIAB system.

I hope you can giveme a hand to introduce myself in this awesome hobbie

Kind regards

Nett

Welcome:rockin:

BIAB is simple. All you need is a big pot, voile material (like from curtains), a rubber or glass container (glass would be better), and an airlock.

My questions would be where do you plan to get the grains and hops in Colombia?

Thanks guys

Yes BIAB si simple, i want to do something like this:
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/biab-brew-stand-hoist-pump-310459/

But whith a little of automatization, we'll see how it evolves.

here in Colombia, is possible to buy malt, and some hops & yeast
but the offer is very limited, i will use the malt from Colombia and buy yeast and hops in the USA.

Kind regards

Nett

yes the crane is nice, however its custom made. the guy that made it has the welding tools to do it. The kettle looks like a bayou classic brand. I would not buy one with the steamer bucket as it will mean smaller mashes. I use the ballington pot here http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008EQ7NXE/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20. I added the temperature gage, sight, and ball valve just under the rack and have had no problems with it. I also use a cheap chinese pump for cooling and draining. I have made a IC that I one used for my smaller batches, but now I use it as a prechiller in the summer months. This is used in conjunction with a CFC that was also homemade. For more info on a cheap pump read through this thread here.. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/cheap-compact-wort-pump-375904/. I will probably go with a chugger or march soon, as I am planning on going with a single tier system.. It will also be self made. Part of my hobby is also DIY for homebrew.

Can I ask exactly where the hops and grain come from in Colombia? Does Colombia produce grain and hops and if so in what region or what state.
