Greetings everybody!

I’ve been perusing the forum for awhile, absorbing all of the knowledge that I could – I guess I should finally introduce myself. The name is Allen, and I live in northern Los Angeles County in a small mountain community with my beautiful wife and three Labrador retrievers.
I made a few batches of (pretty bad) homebrew back in the early 80’s using the kits of the day, but just recently got involved again. So far only (dry) extract recipes, but I’ve been very pleased with the 6 or 7 batches I’ve made to date, and hope to expand my horizons soon!
In any case – many thanks to all of you who have posted your thoughts and experiences for the benefit of us neophytes who have been bitten by the brewing bug (again).
Allen

Welcome! If you can, look into doing all grain - it's a small investment but you increase the types of beer you can make exponentially. I'm a big fan of labs myself, the namesake of my "brewery" is lazily laying on the floor next to me.
