Anyone use this for dry hopping IPAs in kegs?

Yes, I swear by mine. I've used it for about five IPAs now - being able to dry hop directly in the keg is a game changer.

I was using a full diptube length screen from Utah Biodiesel.but the bottom of the screen becomes absolutely packed with fine hops and it then fails. I dry hop in a 10 gallon keg before pushing to 2 5g kegs for serving. I think this would work much better than the screen method.

It's not exactly super cheap, but I only need one.

I read somewhere that loose hops in the Brite have better extraction than bagged or in stainless filter. The other thing about the filter is it'd work for any extra items added, oak or whatever.

Fair enough, although that's probably more of an issue in a brite tank vs serving keg. I just put the bag of dry hops in when I transfer into the corny, then forget about it. I know some people worry about things getting vegetal if you dry hop too long but I've never had issues with that; I suspect it's more of a problem when you are dry-hopping at a carboy at 60-70, vs in a keg at 38.

That does remind me of one other detail: I put some weight into the bag (a spoon or a couple marbles, sanitized of course), otherwise it tends to just float on top. I'm pretty sure it helps with extraction to actually submerge the hops in the beer instead of them sitting in the head space :)

went to work with our new Bulldog transfer cane yesterday and was wondering if I was having a senior blonde moment as I couldn't get the damned thing to work. after an hour or so of fighting with it I started to break it completely down to double-check everything; the gas barb the CO2 company gave me has a check-valve, going in the wrong direction!
f'ing ID10Ts
quick trip to Lowes got me the correct barb and I was back in business emptying barrels

Finally got running water in the new garage. Hoping to start brewing in the next week or so...

Sorry to quote my own post.
I’m looking for water filter options/ recommendations. Currently I buy 5gl at a time from the units infront of grocery stores. Does anyone have an idea of a similar home size unit? I can either attach a garden hose to the faucet or I can run something in-line through the cold water line. Thoughts?

You can go to Home Depot or Lowe's and put together a carbon filter setup. I use a RV hose into a fitting that attaches to the filter thread (it's a female hose thread to male pipe thread). Output is just heavy duty tubing that is hose clamped to a threaded bard. Get a 0.5 micron filter. That's what I have been doing for years. There's a video on YouTube of how I did it.

Or you can go the route of installing a RO system. That's what I have done recently and it's not that hard to setup. All you have to do is drill one hole if you already have the cutout in the sink.

The thing on the RO is waste water. I am pretty much leaning towards your first filter.

I finally got a Ss Brewbucket. I'm hoping to try it out this weekend for the first time. Still need to do the hot acid soak on it though.
I just did a cold starsan soak on mine. Probably going to have to re-pasivate it though since it has been out of commision for almost a year :(

Will you put some sort of side board on it to let items drip dry?
I've got some wire shelves off to the side for storage, etc. I'm thinking I'll get a 2-3ft steel table for the corner to the left of the sink for staging/ work space.

Check out restaurant supply auction houses. You can pick up tables and shelves for cheap.

Brought back to life my first kegerator hardware. It's been sitting for about 4 years. Scored a used freezerless fridge for cheap. Brazilian Cherry top. 4" tower, perlick flow controls (another used deal). This will have Sparkling water, cold brewed coffee and cocktails on tap. CO2 and Nitrogen setups.

So nothing "new" but out of storage and upgraded.

Side note, I hate the drip tray. If you get a tower with 3 taps, pay more for a wrap around drip tray. This will be a future upgrade.

Added a hole to my mash tun lid for the recirculation camlock. Also a small hole for a thermometer. Really like how my "new" brewhouse is shaping up.

Side note if any socal people are looking for an igloo 10gl converted mash tun. Let me know.
