Hi all,

New to this whole kegging business. I just got the Danby setup from Costco as a gift. What else do I need to get started? I think it's just a Corny, but I haven't been able to find a clear answer.

Thanks.

not sure what "danby set-up" means

Is it a mini fridge you're converting to a kegerator or a prebuilt kegerator?

If it is a kegerator already, what did it come with?

If just the unit, then you'll need:

5lb CO2 cylinder filled with co2, Regulator, Hoses, hose clamps and barbs/fittings, Air/Gas Couplers and a Corny keg.

Oh, and beer.

ok

It should be set-up for a sankey coupler, so you'll need to change the connector on the hoses.

you'll need to get couplers and swivel nuts with bards on them.

The set-up looks like this

Those barbs go into the hoses. The gray for the gas side (one side connects to the regulator the other side screws onto the gray ball valve) The gray coupler connects to the IN side of the corny keg.

Then the black one is for liquid. You'll connect one side to the black coupler and the other side goes up the tower to your faucet barb. The black coupler connects to the OUT side on the corny keg.

You'll also need some hose clamps to tighten them down.

Should look like this:

Then you should be good to go.

You can buy the stuff here Or you can read that site and see what the stuff is, then find it on Ebay or somewhere cheaper.

Just keep in mind that the swivel nuts for GAS and LIQUID are different sizes. If you mess with the liquid side and cause restrictions, you'll get foamy beer.

Here is a decent primer on balancing your kegging system.

I have the exact same kegerator. First thing I would do is get some new beer lines. The one that come with it is short and has too big of a diameter. This causes a lot of foaming.
I would also seriously consider getting a double faucet tower. This fridge can easily handle two kegs with plenty of room to spare for a couple sixers. And when you think about it...more beer is always better!
