Hello just wanted to say hi to all- just started brewing on my own and have already found this forum and invaluable source of information. My father brewed beer when I was younger so I have a little experience (mostly helping him bottle!) but the real reason I got into the hobby is because I miss some of my favs- I lived in Germany for a bit and really miss my Diebels Alt, Koelsch, and Edelstoff and of course a fair amount of the Czech stuff(Pilsner Urquell, Staropramen).

I've started off with NB's Koelsch kit- figured it was not too difficult and a good summer beer...

Welcome :mug:
Kolsch can be a little tricky, it's "light" enough that you may notice a few "off" flavors.

Welcome, Coco! There are some good lbhs here, plus a lot of brewers.

If you like Kolsch, Metropolitan Brewing (a great new brewery that recently opened in Chicago) makes a really good Kolsch. And Goose Island's Summertime is a Kolsch, too.

Cheers!
