Finally making the jump to kegging. :mug:

From my chest freezer to taps I'll have a 10 foot run and I'm concerned about temperature to the taps.

I'm thinking about running an extra line that returns to the freezer and continuously pumping glycol from a submerged pump/container in the freezer and having that line plus 3 beer lines insulated. I'm wondering if it's overkill or if there is a more practical solution.

Any suggestions or opinions?

Insulation only slows down temperature changes, it doesn't prevent them, so eventually the beer in the lines will reach the ambient temperature of the surrounding environment.

On the up side, 12 feet of 3/16" ID beer line only holds 2 ounces of brew, so if one is willing to deal with that, mere insulation may be ok.

Otherwise, running a chilled glycol or even salt water loop is probably the most effective solution...

Cheers!
