Wanted to ask on my thread here if anyone would comment on SOOW vs SJOOW for my application? I know someone mentioned heat is a factor since my run is going to be longer than most, but is it worth me using the thicker SOOW over SJOOW?

Also i measured the voltage at the panel and voltage at the plug. Both were basically dead nuts 246 volts.

sjoow is the 'junior' version of soow. both have oil-resistant thermoset insulation and outer coverings and both are rated for damp and wet locations. primary difference is voltage rating: sjoow is rated up to 300 volts but soow is rated up to 600 volts. so soow has thicker insulation and is 'beefier' when compared to sjoow but for homebrew applications, sjoow is fine. another small difference is sjoow is only available up to #10 awg while soow is available up to #2 awg.

voltage rating on cable/wire is the rms ac voltage, unless listed otherwise (which would be a specialized cable, not very common).
