Need a recipe

Hey all. I was hoping that someone could help me out with a strange recipe request. This might be disgusting but I think a small gallon batch would be fun to try out. I am looking for a candy cane/peppermint flavored ale. how would I get that taste into my beer? Extract? Candy Kanes? Also, what style of ale would be best suited for this flavor. Pale ale?... Make a chocolate porter and add some peppermint schnapps.....

Use chocolate extract with a known recipe. Add schnapps when you rack to a 2ndary or use mint extract at bottling.

I think it would be fun (and a good story to tell your friends and family) if you ACTUALLY put crushed Candy Canes in your secondary...
