@3 Dawg Night got it, you're up!
Once you mentioned that there were two spectacular buildings in the picture, I noticed the Taj Mahal in the background!

Here's a picture that I took when I visited my cousin about a year ago. You've likely all seen this building before.

Bullocks Wilshire building on Wilshire Blvd in LA.

I know it because I lived in LA for three years, but I'm curious why you think we've all seen it?

Plus, the light in that picture looks distinctly LA. I'm guessing the picture was taken early evening?

@duncan.brown is right on! Yes, that picture was taken in the early evening, on the way to supper. My cousin graduated from Southwestern Law School, which now owns the building. The building was used for the exterior shots of the apartment building in the final scene in "Ghostbusters." In addition, Aerosmith filmed their "Love in an Elevator" video in the lobby (and elevators).

Ah that's right! I never made that connection for some reason!

I was also today days old before I finally clicked that it's "Wilshire Blvd" and not "Wiltshire Blvd," despite having lived in LA. My brain has been autocorrecting it to the name of the English county all this time...

Here's the next one. Ignore my daughter on the right of the picture, but the rest of the foreground is also a clue.

Hmm - my gut reaction was Alsace but on closer examination it's a slightly different kind of cutesy. So it must be across the Rhine, in the Black Forest/Baden-Württemberg somewhere.

Well I seem to have been closest, and I can't get closer than the general region, I've only driven through it a few times but never really lingered.

Hohum, always my localish ones happen when I'm not around. But I have drunk Eastgate, the 2003 Champion Beer of Cheshire, a Cascade best bitter originally brewed for the centenary of the clock.
