Good deciphering.. The clue was a painting by Machiavelli that is in the Accademia museum in Florence.

I’ll give it to pvpeacock.

The exact location is Santa Ana. However, pretty much all of the LA basin looked like that last week due to the wildfires. You can’t really tell from the pic, but I’d guess 20-30% of the sunlight was blocked out by the smoke. The light that made it through had a pale gold color. Sunrises and sun sets were spectacular.

That mpi logo was the only thing I had to go on as I missed the meaning of the smoke too. Logo is actually pretty distinctive, but that Canada address was the only contact info I could find. Pvpeacock, waitin’ on you...

I noticed that after I posted it. Very strange. I don't recall a second sun being visible that particular day.

Perhaps is was a perfectly formed spherical fireball expelled with great haste by the fire that raged beneath it.
