Rotovegas? I had to look that one up! I’ve been there and never heard the term Rotovegas. The Rotorua Museum in the Government gardens in Rotorua, initially used as a bath house. Well done Pkrd, you are up.
Rotovegas was a term of endearment. But to be honest it really went downhill during Covid when no tourists showed up. A lot of hotels were used for isolation and then later became emergency housing for the homeless. It’s recovering now.
I vaguely remember soaking in those hot pools after running the Rotorua Marathon 30 years ago. Good times.
Bingo Cheshire. This tunnel links Portage, Alaska to Whittier, Alaska. It was originally built as a train tunnel. For some stupid reason, they spent a fortune making it so that cars can drive through it when the train is not. However, they did not widen the tunnel, so car traffic can only go one way at a time. In addition, once you get to Whittier, there is nowhere to drive. It's a dead end! Makes no sense. This is a photo inside the tunnel.
