Enoshima, Japan?

Nicely done, you got it!

Got a chance to go out there to help with a data collection exercise. Couple colleagues had berths on the USS Ronald Reagan, I had a slot on the USS Chancellorsville. We dash out a few days early, since we were worried the ships would leave port to avoid Typhoon Lionrock, then just stay out and get underway to an exercise. Turns out once we got there, they were still going out to avoid the typhoon, but were returning. I took a day and took the train from Yokosuka to Enoshima. Next day, ships come back, find out my ride busted a fuel tank. No other berths to be found...so went home - free trip to Japan. Too bad...was looking forward to the ship-rider experience.

Wouldn't mind riding a ship, long as the chow was good & I didn't have to haul lines or stand a watch

Still looking for other chances - not having been in any of the branches, be a good way for me as an analyst to get a taste of the "real world", see firsthand what isn't covered in our sims and stuff.

It was the tower in the background that was the best clue.
OK, have a guess on this one:

Yep! Just over 2 years, love it here!

Worked there back in the late 90s

Job wasn't bad, but I lived in Springfield, VA at the time and had the 8pm to 4am shift. Those were the sucky parts. DC traffic & I had to drive 1/2 the Beltway at 6pm to make it to work on time. 4am traffic was nothing

Dinng!

Been there once at Jõgevatreff 2014 or 13 I believe was the year. One of the biggest motorcycle gatherings around here. Starts off at the Kuremaa manor about 13km away and ends at the town of Jõgeva. Pretty cool riding in double file line that stretches past both horizons. Well over 10.000 bikes packed into a 6.000 people town. The cops shut down the road whole way for the duration of the parade. Rode 1200something km in three days.

My bike was parked where that white van is near the bottom of the picture in front of the shop (red brick building)
