I inherited a used-but-still-pretty-awesome counterflow chiller. It has garden hose fittings on both the water in and out and a 1/2" barb on the wort in. What I'm unsure about is the wort-out pipe, which has the fitting shown in the picture welded to it. Can somebody please tell me what this fitting is, and point me in the right direction as to what I need to get in order to put a 1/2" barb on it? The guy at my local Ace hardware store was stumped.

That is one half of a copper sweat union fitting, look for a sweat union for 1/2" copper and you will find the missing brass nut and male half of the fitting.
