So this is my first recipe. So I have to disclose a few things, first off, I love the 13 time champion Green Bay Packers. Secondly, I needed the ingredients to include the initials GPG (see hop additions) for obvious reasons. Anyway, back to the reason I'm posting; I need your thoughts.

So, here goes, quick grain bill, 11# golden promise, 3# victory.
Mash: 60 minutes at 152
Hop additions: 1 oz. Gelena @ 60 minutes, 1 oz. palisade @ 20 minutes, 1 oz. glacier @ 5 minutes.

Yeast: 1056

So what are your thoughts, does it sound like a drinkable recipe? How do you think the hop profile will blend together? Curious to hear your thoughts and possible changes or tweeks, and thanks for your feed back. Go Pack Go.

You know what? I was thinking of using similar hop additions to yours but in a lower OG beer with more IBUs from the Palisade and Glacier.
I would say maybe add the Palisade at 15, and if you have enough, some Glacier at the same time.

That is an awful lot of Victory malt, I would drop it to 10% at max. It would be overwhelming at that level you have currently.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I should add a pound of Golden promise and go with only 1 pound of victory malt. Sounds good. Thoughts on possibly doing fwh with galena? I've never done that before but thinking of giving it a try on this one. I've heard some say it kind of mellows out the initial bitterness a bit.

The Glacier hops signify the frozen tundra, so I can't change those, at least not on this batch.

i feel like GBP being out of this world vs frozen thundra works, esp if its a better tasting/smelling hop

I'm sorry, I refuse to try and help....

Go BEARS!I:D

In all seriousness, good luck with your beer. If I were in your position, I'd up the original gravity, You are gonna need to numb yourself after DA BEARS beat up on your team.

Of course I'm kidding.

Cheers!
