i just started making mead, and the first thing im making is a pina colada mead using juice i got from the store (in juice box form). im not really following a recipe since i was just screwing around at the time, i started it 2 days ago on the 26th and gave it a taste just now, to see how it tastes, and it's surprisingly good, it tastes of mostly pineapple with a hint of coconut and ofc it had the sting and lingering taste of alcohol.

here is my botched recipe:

2 liters of pina colada juice
400 grams of honey
just enough water to disolve the honey (no aditional water)
and the yeast (i used bread yeast)

i since i dont have an airlock, i used latex gloves and poked holes to let out the CO2, also the box on the right is the type of juice i used.

i would greatly appreciate any help or pointers.
as i already said it's only been 2 days since it's been fermenting, but so far it tastes really good, will update later

I'm guessing it is still fairly sweet right now, which may be helping it taste so nice. Once it finishes fermenting (could be up to 3-4 weeks) it will probably need some time for the yeast to settle out (place in the fridge to speed this up). You might want to sweeten it after moving it off the yeast layer - looking into backsweetening techniques.
