...after 1 week of bottle conditioning I had to, just had to, taste my first homebrew. It is a Robust Porter kit from Brewer's Best. It has a great coffee, chocolate flavor and is very very smooth. However, there is no head what-so-ever on this. Could this be something I did wrong, am missing or is it just too early in the bottle conditioning phase to have any head?

You are about 2 weeks to early. Beer needs at least 3 weeks before they are ready to drink. 4-5 weeks is better but who can wait that long. :)

Yeah give it more time to really judge it. 1 week in the bottle is really not much time at all especially for a beer like that with a lot of flavors that must mellow out and blend with each other.

Give it time. Lots more time. 3 weeks minimum for me on most beers, and for some, it's even better to let it ride the shelf in the closet for quite a few more. I even let the legs sit for a while now, even though the carb can be done in a few days easy. Ok, I usually don't, but I usually wish I had.
