I'm starting to build my brutus ten build inspired by jlandin and Lonnie Mac. Figured that i'd follow suite and add my timeline. If you are looking to build your own system i highly recommend Lonnie Macs build specs from BYO magazine and reading Josh's thread on his build. he has been extremely helpful in this process. Here's his thread Jlandin's brutus build

Before... Old keg shell thats been sitting in the basement for years waiting for a project
Cut the top off the shell using plasma cutter
Grinded the shell down to the raw shiny steel. I liked the way the grinded down metal looked so i went ahead and did this to all three shells. The keg shells took about 15 minutes each to cut and grind.

Is that a gas line running right in front of all that electrical??? in the first picture. Looks like a very bad installation to me. Even if it is water right next to those outlets it looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Not to mention against all building codes.

Looking again, I am not familiar with the equipment.. Air??

Ha yeah it's an air line. Not my house not my equipment. I assume it's code we live in Georgia and Georgia is known for being backwards.

Have you test fired the burners? It looks like you have a high pressure regulator attached to low pressure furnace valves.

I have tested them. Work fine. i need to remove a few of the jets and i plan on going with a totally different regulator. (I jacked that one off my old turkey fryer). Still have to build the control box, have a few spots to touch up welding, and paint.
