OK so if anyone wants to hazard a guess as to why the heck my beer tastes like baked beans I would appreciate it. Ive searched but have not found anything else where anyone has ever likened the taste of their beer to baked beans, heres the recipe, any ideas where I went wrong?

ehhh, how long has it sat in the bottle/keg?

I made a crystal malty IPA once that briefly tasted like caramel candy, but that went away after 4 weeks in the bottle.

I've never used treacle, but are you used to baked beans with molasses? Perhaps you associate the treacle flavour with the beans.

Sounds like it would go great with some BBQ....

No its complete  Maybe it could possibly be the treacle flavour, Ill have to force myself to drink some later to find out. Its been 3-4 months in the bottle now and I thought it would have gone but that first sip is still just the same, like licking the inside of an empty can of cold baked beans

So.. I am the first person to make a baked beans flavoured beer :rockin:
