Mounting a Johnson controller

Hello all,
I have a Johnson A419. I'm trying to mount it to the wall but I can't figure out how. It has 4 keyholes in the back to slide screws into. But the place to insert the screws is very shallow.
Please tell me the kind of screws to buy or any other tips to help.

I don't remember mine being that difficult. I would take it into a hardware store and get the right screws and possibly anchors.

I used Velcro on mine.

I mounted it on a small piece of plywood to match the back of the Johnson and then screwed it to a stud behind the sheetrock.
