Just bought a 6 of flying dog porter - it's pretty decent. I've tried their product before, BUT - $16.80 at the till!? I won't do that again.
STELLA. STELLA. STELLA. God help me, this crap is EVERYWHERE. It's not a "bad" beer, but it's not really much better than BMC either. Yet, everywhere I go, they've got it on tap and are charging premium prices for it. Are you kidding me? And to make matters worse, all the doofuses who normally drink BMC or Cali Chard order Stella and they think they're drinking some exotic potion. Their self-satisfaction smells like turds.

Totally agree with you there. I see this kind of behaviour all the time here and it's hilarious.
I raise the BS flag on that at every bar I go too--if they say a beer is "import prices" it damn well better be imported. I noticed they are using the term "premium" more now....
Dogfish head Hopslam: $18 for a 6 pack.
Before I get dragged out of the forum and pistol whipped, I did a search and couldn't find an existing thread... So what do you think is the most overrated beer out there? I'm offering up New Belgium Fat Tire. I really don't get it. It's average at best IMO, but it's pretty darned popular out here.![]()
As to your question... Any company that spends more on marketing their product than making their beer is overrated (enter Budweiser, Coors, et al).
I second Guiness stout and Newcastle brown ale. People rave about these beers, but they seem so one dimensional.
