I have been working with the Monster Energy Drink Can "Import". It has a resealable and yes Air tight top. SO far... It will carbonate beer. It does reseal and it does not leak when holding it upside down. The Downfall. There is no known way to refill it with beer easily atm.. I am in the middle of designing a sorta siphon just for this task.. I will post pictures when I achieve perfection.

On closer inspection there is a ridge and the seal allows a direct flow on the intake only. The can allows outbound flow best at a upside down 45 degree angle. The intake works best in the vertical postion. This allows 2 possibility's for actual refill. 1 a very small hose tucked into the open lip of the BRE (Ball Corp. Patented Seal for the Monster Import Can). the second method would be to purchase a can topper. They were poppular in the early 90's. They were caps you put on top of your can to make it a resealable bottle. I am going to track one of these down and make some conversions and post pics. In Theory the first method would be preferable for maintaining not having risudual beer sealed in between the cap. This beer could however be purged easily enough if neccisary. I believe the second method will allow for much faster filling. I will play with both this weekend if I have time and let you all know.. I may be the only person excited about the possibilities here. For the first time being able to can my own beer. Not to mention it wont even look like beer or arouse any suspicions!! For those family outings at the parks where they prohibit beer for 2 months out of the year for no good reason.

Why not just use the cap can?

I don't see why you couldn't fill it and carb it like any other bottle or use a counterflow filler. Is there a screen or something inside? Nothing a little snip-snip wouldn't cure, I'm sure. ;)

The cap can doesnt seal corectly on the second use a lot of times it will leak when you turn it upside down. The Import can is 100% resealable. The problem with doing it loke any other bottle is that the internal opening is a thin slice only. just enough for flow and counterflow. the liquid has to be regulated perfectly to get it back inside the can.

Pouring slowly at a slight angle seems to work if you're just looking for a camouflage can or just like the design. I've included a video. Hope it helps.

Jorgen - getting the inside clean enough turned out to be a issue. You can soak it in cleaning agent but there is no sure way to tell if you got everything out of there. I scrapped this idea. Sorry havent been on in a looooong time. life caught up with me and had a major car accident.
