but I gotta admit that the Yanks would probably win.

SHHHH!!! If you don't say it it won't come true.

Actually, my biggest fear right now is the + week layoff that the Phils are in. Rest is good but too much is bad.

They got swept by the Rockies two years ago after a week long rest. They just never clicked and it looked like they were out of sync.

Hmm, I was thinking about watching New Christine and then going to bed early. Why?

Don't laugh, I might be watching New Christine too for the woman.....changing channels for the game and then switching back to the game for the rest of the night.

Unreal. I'm a huge die-hard lifelong Yankees fan, but you can't say anything bad about the Phillies last night (other than Lee's cocky catch of that pop-up). I'll be there tonight hopefully seeing a much better performance by my Yankees!

heehee. That was hilarious. Really, given the game that Lee played last night, I think he's entitled to a little bit of cockiness. Plus after that NY Post article the other day, there's little room to complain about cockiness coming from the Phillies.

I think some Philly fans are getting a little too certain that the Phillies are going to win. I'm much more pessimistic about things like this. We'll see what happens tonight.

This is bad??? Nahhh, this is a guy on top of his game. Let's go PHILS!!!

Yeah, what was he supposed to do since he was already where he needed to be? Jump up and down? Spin in circles?

Really, he should have gotten under the ball some - it makes it less likely you'll drop the ball. If you look at a closeup of his glove, the ball was halfway out - it almost bounced out.

He caught it like he catches every ball tossed to him after every pitch he makes. No big thing.

Have a blast tonight. Hopefully the weather will be a little better for you. One thing for sure. You will see some of the Phillies bullpen tonight.

I'd love to see Pedro pitch in NY again. He will either pitch a gem or be gone in the second

Beyond a couple players I'd like to see do well, I have no connection or love for the Phillies... but seeing NY lose is always a good thing. Go Philly! :D No ring for A-roid!

The weather held out (a little chilly towards the end though), and of course the Yankees won ;) so I am a happy man. It was a little expensive, but definitely worth it. I can finally say I made it to a World Series game. I never had the money for any of the other ones.

I really wish I was able to see that "double play" Philly turned to end the 8th in slow motion though... I got about 20 texts telling me that not only was it not a double play, but they didn't get anyone out! They never show close replays at Yankee Stadium. I think they don't want the crowd jumping on the umps for the rest of the game and pissing them off!

Whatever, worked out in the end. It was nice watching all the Philly fans hightail it out of there in the 9th ;) Although one gave my girlfriend a seat on the train on the way home, so I can't complain too much :)

Happen to notice if he was still in it? :cross:

He was a gentleman about it ;)

Do you Philly fans remember a pitcher named Cliff Brantley from the early '90's? He was a very good friend of my family and I used to come to your games all of the time, at Veterans stadium and at Shea. It was a great 2 years for me being I was only like 14. We used the players entrances, met all of them, and sat in the best seats to every game. A lot of great memories from old Veteran's Stadium.

No I don't, but I am not really a baseball fan. I just like the playoffs and the world series. If the Phillies win I will be excited but just until about 15 minutes into the celebration at the stadium then after that I don't really care about it until next year.

My wife kept telling me that the weather can't be a "*********" but that is what I've been calling it for the last hour and a half.

I hate to be a quitter and not give my full support but I just don't see them winning all the remaining games. I would rather not watch them die and the Yankees celebrate. Ok, I will tune in and watch only if just a minute to see how things are going but tonight being one of my favorite TV nights I may just watch my shows.

After hearing all the very ill-advised "Yankees Suck" chants... I am praying for a win tonight so they can all pile on each other on Philly's field. I might actually take a picture of my TV screen if it happens just to remember it :)

If Burnett brings it, it's over tonight. Then Rollins can explain why Phils in 5 turned into Yanks in 5!

I really hate that kind of stuff, but I have to remember those are just fans (??) and not the actual team members, I am for the team not the fans.

They should let Pettitte pitch again. They could get his buddy Clemens to give him some more HGH and hook A-roid up with a little fix, I mean pressure being on him and all. Of course, the Phillies picked up Lights Out Lidge, so they shouldn't have any worries. - Dwain
