No it is not. Mason jars are not designed to hold pressure. it is ok however to pour your beer in one and drink it:mug:

I bottle my mead, and wine in mason jars. You just cannot bottle anything that is going to be carbonated.
 
mason jars only seal when heated, and are only made to hold a negative seal (vacuum)

I wouldn't bottle my mead or wine in them since they do not seal if you're using canning lids.
