I was just shuttling around lowes getting various plumbing fittings, and looking at parts for a CFC, etc.

I went to get a 1/2" threaded brass valve when i saw these (T200W)

http://www.americanvalve.com/pdf/bronze/4.pdf

This valve has a waste/bleeder valve that i was thinking i could use to help with any march priming problems.

Is there any reason I shouldn't use this?

I was thinking i would align it as such:

pump impeller -> pump outlet -> waste port -> ball valve.

What do you guys think?

makes sense. I would try it out!

Please post how well it works...

Works really well so far. I used it as described above.

I think the icing on the cake will be if i get a second one for the outlet to the HLT. that way i can prime the pump chamber be using the pump bleeder valve, then i can evacuate the air pocket in the suction line using the HLT bleeder valve.

I will work on this and report back with picture/sketch.

I've been using the wasteport for a few years now... Works great when placed on the out flow of the pump and before the ball valve...

Here is how mine is set up. Pat
