Hi all,

New to this forum. I dabbled a few years ago with extract and PM. Now that I'm back at it, I'm moving on to AG. SWMBO finally let me take half the garage for my new brewery.

I was planning on my first AG brew last weekend, but the wife had to have surgery on her shoulder last week. So, now I'm shooting for next weekend.

BTW, both SWMBO and I have been employed by Coors Brewing Company for the past eight years. I know, I know, its swill. Although I am obviously not as disparaging of BMC style beers as some of you are, it will be fun to brew up something with a bit more flavor and character.

Welcome and good luck on the first AG. Write down as many notes as you can. It will take you several brews to find out how your system really behaves in order to hit all of your numbers. :tank:

Welcome to HBT. Good luck with your AG. It's not terribly hard to do, as long as you did your homework, you understand the process, etc. My main problem starting with AG is I always forget something (like my 5.2 stabilizer, or adding the irish moss, etc.), so having a checklist and/or having everything pre-measured and laid out is a big help.

We always welcome folks from the Dark Side who have found their way. :D

Congrats on the jump!

Congrats on the jump! I know you have a shop in the Westminster area, but the new one in Boulder, Hop To It Homebrew! is a great place, better prices than Beer At Home, and much nicer employees with better advice.

Welcome! Glad you found us.

I went to college at the mines in Golden in the late '80's and early '90's. In fact, I lived directly across the street, next to Parfet Park, for a couple of years. I drank a lot of Coors on the short tour. Even as a home brewer, there's a place for Coors in my fridge, especially after running the lawnmower.

Anyhow, welcome aboard!

Thanks for the advice. I've been to Beer At Home and wasn't too impressed. I travel to Boulder a few times a month, so I'll have to check them out.
