Making Starter with Older DME?

I'm doing my first starter in over a year. I'm not sure how old my DME is. Probably about 1.5 years old.

Will ths be OK for a starter or should I get some new DME?

If it's all clumped together and discolored dark, then I would toss it. But if it looks normal, use it. Properly stored(dry conditions), DME will last a loooong time.

Like Jim said, if it looks normal...use it. For a starter, the yeast don't care.
