Photo dump from Maine trip last weekend. Contemplating heading north as foliage and fly fishing has been hot. However, snow kept hitting and stayed so headed to the shore. Earliest I've seen the leaves turn since coming here.

Good food, beer, golf, people and time. Ran into the local guy that bought the place ten years ago. Billionaire made in the vodka game. Bought out by Jim Beam. Sitting by himself at the bar. Had a good long chat with him.

The pano shot doesn't do the view well. It's over a 100' drop. Atlantic just beyond the horizon.

Idiots in front were slow, lining up putts in the darkness. I tagged them with a good drive on 18 to move them. Didn't realize the carts had headlights. They were lying like four. My bad

In the last shot I see your yacht. Nice.

There's two resorts that have done the golf package. They both have vintage mahogany boat taxis. The first time I went with someone the concierge asked if we'd like to take the bus or water taxi. Umm? Water taxi. They took us out on a little excursion. Really nice. However, the current hotel is only a half mile walk over that foot bridge to town.

So what is that course? Might take the boys up to Maine for golf and fishing in the spring
https://www.boothbayharborcc.com/

It's private but every year they run a special at their hotel. They have cottages on the coast and course too. If you get on their email list they do have discounts on those expensive cottages for last minute cancellations

One night and two rounds included for $300 in the spring and fall. Id recommend the fall if you're not use to the cold Florida Man. I've been up there at the end of the season and hit Indian summer almost 90° and went swimming in the ocean.

I think the summer rate is $400. Guest fees are $175 so it's a steal anytime of the year.

You mentioned fly fishing. There's a great brewery Oxbow just at the end of a nice road trip around the Damiscrotta River and Bristol nearby. Famous for oysters, lobster shacks and scenic drives.

They use to have a all species fly tournament but now they've moved it to an inland location. I'm sure they still host a bit. I missed it. Have new equipment I'm dying to try. When I was there someone caught a pretty good striper schoolie off a hotel dock

Id also recommend just spending a little more for the partial view rooms. You'll get something like this. Feel free to ask more questions

I might go for an extended stay. I feel the need for hanging out in a place like that.
I call it "disappearing". Maine is a little honky tonk and closes down early but the hipsters have moved in and it's changed in a way to make it better. You have to find or make your own fun. The place is littered with good food and drink. I love to cook so I'm very happy just hanging out.

There's a whole other world I've never explored at this place. Boats and the ocean. Lots of kayaks, islands to camp on and boating.

Everytime I'm up there I find something new and hidden. Trying to remember a very scenic road to Oxbow I ran across an Amish Farm stand. Picked up a lot of goodies including a big tub of butter. Dudes rolling in it. Four buggies in the driveway and one in the barn. That's him solo up on the barn

Had a great 18 tonight. Some rando joined me on the 17 and 18. He was a dealer at the local horse track and knew my next door neighbor (who has turned out to be good friend and golf buddy). Small world.

I played two additional holes after the shot below. Finished in the dark, with my lighted balls. Feels weird sometimes being the only soul (other that that black coyote) on the course. Only a little weird. Also quite awesome.

On the way out of the club. I've never played them but been partnered with and told there's an imbalance to them. Played a couple of holes before sunset beautiful weather here but sliced my finger open on the old garage door last week. First day back

I played with an agent from LA last week and he loved the cool weather. There is a unique feeling of playing in fall weather here. Once the sun goes down you feel a strong draft eerily creep across the course as a moon rises.

Family having some fun after sunset

My home course was closed this last week to prevent damage to the greens (that are way too sensitive to the cold), but my backyard net wasn't closed. I'll find out Wednesday if I discovered the secret to the golf swing or if I completely screwed it up.

I'm only working on 3 or 4 things, so what could possibly go wrong?
