Played here for the first time a couple of weeks ago, Mar Hall, for our yearly work golf day out. I was appalling :) but it was a fun day. The course is a modern parkland one, 70 par, not too long.

Looks similar to the guest house at casa de pawn. Before we expanded it.

My youngest boy is headed off to medical school. If I'm still able, he's committed to taking me to scotland for golf after he finishes.

Yeah a bit ridiculous isn't it? it was owned by an Earl, then went derelict then was a hospital during WW1 and is now a 5 star hotel .

Umm one of my largest scale on grading a course is the 19th hole. I'm logging [emoji93] [emoji93] [emoji93] [emoji93]

I hope they serve scotch

Had a great day today on Chi Chi Rodriguez course. It's my neighborhood course. It's a medium-quality course, but there's something to be said for knowing every tree bunker dogleg in a course. I've played it so many times. I hit 45 on the back 9, but a few snowmen wrecked the front 9 (60).

My buddy (returning to cart, on left) is a self-employed consultant. Me too. Last time he golfed was almost 20 years ago, with me :) He's suddenly REALLY into it - this was his fourth round this week. We can play during the weekdays, when it's less crowded and cheap, so I see me playing a lot more golf in the near future. We play his local course (Lansbrook) for $11, and that includes balls and cart. Haha.

11, srsly, that looks nice too. Denver city courses are 41 to walk now on weekends. Just goes up from there.

39 42 Saturday from tips. Doubled 14 and 16 out of no where and bogeyed 17. Pretty much limped in. Short game is coming along. Had some good bird looks from nice wedges.

Sorry, I meant unlimited range balls. Lansbrook is not a very good course, but if you want to hone your game and play a lot, it's fine.

...still! The cheapest I've found around me is $13 for a bucket of 150 -- but only if you pre-pay for $300 worth up front. The cheapest course near me is $15/pp, walking - and that's still a 1:15 drive. I'm starting to think I need to move to Florida...

Florida has (by a pretty large percentage) the most courses in the country. So yes there's bound to be some deals. Florida terrain, though, is mostly flat, so we don't have the canyon courses and similar features that states like Arizona and California have.

The cheapest courses near me are council owned ones, they tend to be £12 a round if you just rock up to play. They aren't very good, often damaged greens etc. ( at least that was the case a few years ago, I doubt it's changed) Although the ones in neighbouring councils can be a bit better, like the south ayreshire courses include a couple of nice links courses and only take about 40mins to get to, but they are a bit more about £30 a round I think during the summer at least

Summer is when the rounds here are the cheapest (we get a lot of tourists in the winter, so prices go up). You really need to be a Floridian to enjoy golf in the middle of our scorching summers. I qualify!

I'm jealous of all of you at the moment. It's been raining what feels like non-stop since Friday, and isn't supposed to get much better tomorrow. Aside from some range practice last night, the clubs are probably staying in their bag this weekend. :(

Bummer man. Hope the sun comes out, but even if it does it could be a sloppy walk. I shot the exact same as last Saturday, literally front and back. But played much worse I felt, but maybe not. Just didn't go my way. Haha, ended up having a 6 some by the end playing skins. Fuggin 3 some in front was holding the 6 of us up. We were playing well but damn, really. Anyways with 3 or four skins carry over on 17, 193 from the tips I hit a 5 iron 190 yards in the air which happens like 1 in 10 times and it ricocheted off. Hole back on 16th finally pissed hit a 300 plus draw down the fairway and hit a sweet cutting gap wedge high and on it. Kaboing. The greens can get firm out here.

My buddy and I were waiting on every tee Friday - slow 4some ahead of us. But after the 9th hole they pulled their carts up to the clubhouse to get beers and we leapfrogged them. In fact, we leapfrogged 2 groups there, and whipped through the back 9 without seeing another group ahead of us.

Georgous! So busy with home projects, golf is far from my mind. Brewpub is the last project as far as the eye can see. Summer golf looking promising...even if it's 105.
Ehhhhh. Every weekend I put off home projects just to get outside. Weather was perfect over the long weekend. Someone asked me at work what I did and my reply was "aaah I think I played golf everyday.... And also bbq'd and drank" weekend felt like a good week. I need more of those.
