love controller/fermenterator newb question

Ok, just finished setting up a mini-fridge fermentation chamber with a Love TSS2. I ended up deciding to ditch the original thermostat, leaving me three internally routed wires to play with.

When I plug the fermenterator in, the Love comes on with a probe reading. The relay status LED's indicate that relay 1 (the fridge) is on and I can hear freon circulating but the compressor doesnt kick on....what gives? Have I done something stupid? HALP!
 
Thanks for the tip! I've spent a lot of time looking over the minimal instructions that come with the love as well as helpful forum members' tips. I think I have a fairly good handle on how to program the controller, and as I said I am fairly confident that relay 1 is on so I must have made some mistake with the wiring? I'll upload the wiring diagram and show you how I have it wired shortly...
 
OK I am dumb....the compressor is working fine now i think. It is surprisingly quiet and last night I could not hear it over the din in my room....I guess I was just being paranoid about damaging the compressor or something due to poor/faulty wiring. Now that it seems to be working, my two questions are:

what is a reasonable differential (r1=?) for now i've left this at the factory default of 1

should i enforce a min relay stop time (c0=?) i don't know much about compressors but i get the impression they can be damaged if they are getting cycled on and off a lot...the default is 0 but for now i've set it to 1
 
there's a huge thread somewhere on here discussing settings ... so big they even discussed thermodynamics.
I've got my Johnson a419 on a freezer and have it set to 67*, (differential) scheduled to cut-out (freezer stops) at 2* over 67. The freezer cools from the sides (no internal fan) but it keeps it between 65-68* - not perfect but darn close. I did set the cycle time to 12 minutes minimum to help hold the life of the compressor. I think it really depends on how well the fridge/freezer holds the temp.
