I currently don't have the ability to lagger my brews and would love to make something similar to one of my favorites, Shiner Bock. Is this possible to replicate as an Ale?

Not sure what degree of difficulty you are looking for, but Munton's makes a decent Bock malt extract. The only thing I would do different is swap out a pound of corn sugar for a pound of light dry malt extract. This was my first three batches ever made. If someone else has an all- or partial-grain recipe, I am all ears.

Well you can't use just any bock kit - while Shiner claims to be a bock, it is really not true to style at all.

If you really want to brew a Shiner clone, you'll need a lagering setup :-/

IF you want to try:

The hops used is Brewer's Gold
They also use Maltoferm to get the dark color and flavor
Get a very clean and balanced ale yeast
