Just an FYI (from my experience), adding makeup water or post boil water for cooling, it should be sanitized water - OR, add to the wort (post boil) when the wort is still above the sanitation temp of 170F or so.
Of course, YMMV...

Maybe it's not like that for everyone, but for me the tap water is clean and good for drinking. I add cold water straight from the tap right before pitch yeast and have never had a problem with that. Of course, I inspect it visually and drink a little to assess whether everything is okay.
