I received this wort chiller as a Christmas gift: Chiller

It worked very well for my first 2-batches but has since developed a leak where the nut screws onto the copper tubing.

I tried tightening the nut with a small wrench but it doesn't seem to be grabbing or threading onto the copper tubing. When I turn the nut it just keeps turning forever and doesn't grab.

Any recommendations on how I can get this to stop leaking?

Thank you for any advice.

Those are actually compression fittings and the seal is made between the fitting and the copper tubing by compressing a ferrule around the tubing to create the seal. You have to ensure you've got a wrench on the fitting while you're trying to tighten the nut around the copper tubing.

See this image for a reference.

You are absolutely correct. I used another wrench to hold the fitting in place while I tightened the other and it worked.

Thank you so much!!!
