This guy calling someone out.

Thanks mate. Ever post your haul from SS? Or sell your glassware to the highest bidder.

Get out of here already.

For what it’s worth, I agree. The recent outcry by Tosh on Thursday morning was responded to by the community over the former pages here. I think it’s time this thread got back to talking about dumplings, poop, heights, and, I guess, feet. This community can be great at letting things be dumplings under the bridge, and I think it’s time that we do that here.

That said: it may be time for some self reflection. Perhaps, tosh, you could also benefit from doing the same for others that you’d like the community to do for you. It may finally be time to move on from your now years old issues with Don, with Seawatchman, etc. No “lists of names,” no sworn enemies. Just taking the site as seriously as it should be taken: not seriously at all.

I mean it. It’s a silly beer website we use to take a break from real life, and to ******** with friends. It should never have been, and never should be taken more seriously than that. By anyone.

This will be my first opportunity being close to one of the Zwanze locations (Crooked Stave) this year. I want to go to the actual event but not sure if my schedule will work out for the day. Should I expect the beer to stay on draft on site for a few days or do I need to find a mule to fill a bathroom vial for me on Zwanze Day?

It will sell out within the evening

Negative. They generally give tickets for a Zwanze pour and another Cantillon pour to approximaty the first 120 people in line, and a ticket for two other Cantillon pours to the next 120 or so in line. They also have bottles for on-site drinking and by 3:00 or so the place starts to clear out.

Still butt hurt about that, when you weren't even involved. Wow.

I also don't own, nor have owned, proper glassware. You're mistaking me for someone else.

I wasn't too impressed with Krieken - both of my bottles were carbonated and I didn't really get much more than a regular 3F Kriek in terms of cherry and funk.

Agreed. I purchased a couple just cause it was in front of my face and I have zero self control. The bottle I popped that night was carbed just like any other kriek.

I have not but I opened a 2005 when it turned 10 years and it's probably my favorite 3F ever.
Thanks for the input! Nice to see they generally age well. The 2015 I opened recently on my birthday was one of my all time favorites.

Hahaha

To those that are only visiting us aiming at buying and profiteering on the time and effort we put into our traditional lambic beers: please do not bother to come by, we prefer not to have you around. By the way, there will be no Zenne y Frontera, and no limited beers will be available as separate bottles. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of beer if we feel your intentions are not sincere.

Won’t be at Open Beer Days this year, but very happy to see this

Its a good thing, OBD was nice last year but I never want to wait in line again for a bottle of beer!

Is he saying that everything limited is going to be in-house only now? Selfishly I don't love that but it's probably for the best.

It sounds to me like the limited things will be bundled. If you want a schaerbeekse kriek, you will have to buy a box that includes 2 regular kriek and a kriekenlambic. Something like that is what I would imagine. Kinda like how Zenne has only been available lately in the more expensive box sets.

That doesn't seem like it would do anything to stop shitlordery to me (as long as the price of the components is less than the price on the secondary market there's still an arbitrage opportunity, though you can make it less worth people's time) but without details it's hard to say.

I disagree. Previously you could just buy individual bottles for their single costs. If you lump in other bottles that don't have high secondary rates and jack up the price of the box set you cut out the shitlordery. Someone that loves lambic is likely going to be just fine getting some shelf bottles to go along with their main beers.

Beligan Beer Barn or those other sketchy websites will be more then happy to buy other bottles and sell them at jacked up prices in addition to the rare bottles at 500% markup. And some idiot will buy them.
