Which most stores are doing. A local spot near me has had cases of OG, A&G, and OK for months because theyre charging almost 2x MSRP. They were selling bottles of Hommage and Golden Blend for $80 a pop. Its ridiculous!

Agreed on the rest of your post though. I understand the price hike, and do consider myself lucky to have been buying lambic for so cheap while I could, but damn!

Yeah, those prices suck, but more a result of supply and demand than 3F raising their prices. If they charged $10 a bottle those stores would still charge $50. It sucks and is ******, but it’s what beer is nowadays.:(

Yes and no. There were folks selling 3F beers for far above MSRP when they were cheaper than they are now, but with MSRP being higher the added shitlord tax seems to have increased alongside it. Really a shame that beer has come to this.

We should start a Lambic price bitching thread, cause this exact conversation seems to happen every few pages and I know it drives a lot of you bonkers lol.

Agreed haha! I do feel bad for you guys though

Most non lambic nerds don't even buy 375 A&G's locally because they are more expensive then the OG (3,50-4,50)

Not intended as a beg. Just a point to be made that y'all on the coast are pretty lucky.
It's not just the coasts, I think it is just state by state and distributor-based issue. We were pretty much lambic dry in MO for 3-4 years while Shelton settled a law suit with another distributor in the state. Now that it has been resolved, there is a decent steady supply of 3F, Boon, & Tilquin. Cantillon never sees the shelves but it makes it to town fairly often. The prices have climbed, but they are still way better than most American Wilds, and I will take that anyday.

My wife always complains that I'm not organized enough. So I decided to sit down and work through.... beer festival timing and planning 2019 :) thanks babe.

Looking to crowd source the lambic focused festivals people are planning on going to this year. Also if you have recommendations based on past experience would love too hear about it!

A few that came to my mind...
  1. Tour de Geuze - May 4-5th
  2. English Beer Festival - (early May?)
  3. Brews for New Avenues - Aug 8-10th
  4. BLX Fest - Aug 24-25th
  5. Night of the Great Thirst US edition - (end Aug?)
  6. Zwanze Day - (end Sept)
  7. Shelton Festival - (?)

GetchaPull, BelgianChris, and myself along with a few non TBers are doing TdG this year. Welcome to hang out!

No English Beer Fest this year...it's every other (even) year and not lambic-focused, but plenty of Tilquin to enjoy.

A few others worth mentioning (not in chronological order):
Billie's (not lambic-focused, per se, but plenty there)
Arrogant Sour

Cantillon public brew day? I wouldn’t list that under festivals as it is just tours and showing the brewing process, not saying it isn’t worth going, but not a festival.

Carnivale Brettanomyces in the third weekend of June is always a lot of fun

Does anyone know how Kurt is generally running things these days (no sarcasm intended)? I just used to find random gems added to the website, but now it seems like he may just keep most desired things off the website and only sell to those that email him. The one exception seems to be the fou sale that happened about 6 weeks ago. Can anyone confirm this? I don't really need any more beer purchases, but was just curious if anyone has the inside scoop.

He and Jonathon (etre) both keep some stuff in the store to sell locally. If they didn't do that, they'd sell all their good stuff online immediately and never get foot traffic. Kurt also saves vintages to build future packs and get a little more coin.

I'm looking to attend again this year.
100% in for NOGT US. Chris may rip my arm from its socket after a drunken remark, but it's worth the risk.

Does Kurt even know? (Sarcasm intended)

Ah that’s too bad, been really wanting to make it out to Pierre’s event. Last year looked like a blast!

Day of the Kriek, Saturday June 1st at Grote Dorst.

Not a festival, but good fun nonetheless!

New drop of loons on Etre as well in case people need to fill up the rest of their boxes.
Anybody else having an issue adding the Cantillons to their pre-existing box? Mine won't let me add them for reservation. It only lets me have them shipped separately now, added to my box to ship now, or store pickup. I want to get a full box, but it isn't letting me add more to it for later shipment

Interesting. I had no problem doing that just now. Maybe you added a few too many for it to count as one box?

Edit: sorry, I actually just filled a box and shipped it so I don't know about your scenario. Sorry for not paying enough attention.

Yeah same here.
