Every time I hear that it's the greatest thing ever all I can think is that people saying as much got a Welch's grape juice box in their brown bag lunch every day as a kid and have a fond association with it for that reason.

I could literally take Lamvinus, throw some white grape juice in it and water it down with Vigneronne and create DQ.

Welch's was the highlight of my free school lunch :(

Got some in the mail today and couldn't wait. I love Mamouche so I was excited to see this coming out. Great pour, nice, lasting carbonation. Nose is immediately recognizable to anyone who's a fan of elderflower in lambics though not completely in your face. Taste is on point. Lindemans lambic in general to me is really consistent, fairly light, and quite citric - all characteristics that help accent elderflower. So Blossomgueuze succeeds where Mamouche can often fail: the elderflower isn't the only thing going on and it doesn't present that overpowering pickle/pepper/vegetal note that seems to turn a lot of people of. It's very obviously there, but it doesn't completely dominate. In terms of intensity, I'd say it's certainly not as powerful as Mamouche, but the characteristics of the lambic serve to enhance all of the flavored. My only complaint is that it's a bit yeasty/bready, but that may settle out. All in all this is a more than sufficient substitute while Mamouche is on hiatus.

Have two in the cellar, can't wait to try over Xmas. Cheers!

Had this last night too. Have to agree, this was very nice although different to Mamouche. It does have a bready/biscuity aspect that I´ve also gottten from the 2010 Special Blend but it´s light and should fade over time.

We also opened a Zenne y Frontera, so the Lindemans was slightly overshadowed.

So is it worth messaging Cantillon if they never sent us a tracking number or will the package just show up one of these days?

They'd probably know just as much as you do about the shipment. My BiaB order never even updated past being scanned in Brussels and I've already drank two bottles from it.

'Tis the season.

Nothing substantial to add to this great thread, just one comment and one question after reading through the past 50+ pages:

Checking my last order from Etre (late 2012), crazy what a change in limits/pricing. Classic Cantillon for 6 € (no limit), LPK for 15€, FF and Mamouche at 20€ each. Very happy BiaB still does bulk 3F.

Question on Hanssens - the last two years (?) that have been dated with best by month/year are undrinkable (to me). Gueuze and Kriek. Always been known as enamel ripping but seems even more raw than older bottles.

Never had any updates, but mine just showed up with a note/beer mat thank you note from Julie.
Same. USPS "attempted" delivery on Friday and I finally got a chance to go pick it up yesterday. Bomb proof packaging and entire ******* roll of tape. Package was still listed as processing on cantillon's site.

I say "attempted" because like all of my overseas orders my wife was home, nobody rang the doorbell, but there was a sticker on the door. Sticker is supposed to say when they're reattempting delivery, but instead has that crossed out and the pickup location is circled.

USPS was doing this to me for a while with all signature required packages too because the regular mailman is really scared of dogs and refused to "risk getting bitten" by my little 20-some pound skinny ass hound that never bit anyone in her life. But now a guy at the post office calls me when the packages come and they either send someone from the post office straight over here or I go pick up.

Got a pitcher (along with some other goodies) from cantillon. Does anyone have a good care/washing instruction for these? I feel like soap is not a good thing in the unglazed clay interior

And they're all idiots. DQ was a boring beer.

Full trollception achieved. Impressive, even coming from you.

Flat and boring, flavor is okay but not great. 02/05/2013 bottle.

You just don't understand lambic. Flat was expected given the doesjel label (generally) and boring means you have difficulty expressing yourself without adjuncts.

Julian, GFY.

Just kidding. Drink what you like. Merry Christmas you crazy Canadien.

I love this stuff, old bottle. So I believe Cantillon in the mix? Regardless, never had a bad bottle. No gushing either.

Maybe ignorance, but i recall old bottles mentioning cantillon on the label. Not sure if that holds true for all bottles where that was the case. I know i had one that did. (I have only had two) I'm sure someone will correct me.

Does anyone know what the newer bottles are comprised of?

Tried a 2015 Hommage (Euro Label Bottling) today. A lot of fruit, no acetone or band aids. The fruit kind of tasted 'separate' from some of the lambic character like Mure did, but there is certainly more fruit here than on those bottles. Tasty.
750 Golden Blend- exactly like this years 375s- green apples and funk, lively ass pours. One of few beers I have tried that I feel confident will improve with time. (I don't understand the whole 'this will get better' assumption in general. This just has precedent on its side.)

Cheers!

******* wow... sleepy no more, the cork shot out of this. amazing lime-like citrus character contrasted by slight blue cheese funk and mineral/herbal bite. plenty of oak in the aftertaste.

I cant think of any other lambic ive had that even remotely compares to this. (weird comparison i know but it sorta reminds me of armand and tommy except i felt A&T had more minerals and orange/lemon citrus instead of the lime present in this.) when i last had this brew a year and a half ago it started to carb up and had a green pepper thing going on. the green pepper wasnt present in this bottle but instead this one is all citrusy.

for reference, this is bottle number 184 of 1400.

Does anyone know where to buy plain glasses like the tilquin or 3F glass. The larger version of the lambic.info glass.

They do? Most recent order was august. Been checking last couple weeks for 3FOG VP, nada. Given trends can only assume we have collectively exhausted that option.

it's come and gone, and back again over the last three years. it'll probably be back.
