i lagered a batch of pilsner around 50d (still trying to figure out my igloo lager box lol) i have a little over a whole month of fermenting and time in the bottles. i took a couple bottles out and noticed stuff floating around in them so i stuck one in the fridge and drank the other floaties and all lol. after the one in the fridge cooled down to fridge temp (no idea what that is lol cold though) the beer was clear and no floaties.

the hot one i opened was a gusher instant foam all over the counter etc. had a thick head in the glass it almost seemed over primed. but the one in the fridge had the oppisit effect no gushing when opened and very little head in the glass. (its far from being done bottle conditioning i know) now my question is should i be letting the bottles condition in a cold enviroment (ie: fridge or cooler) or are they ok at room tempeture? around 75f

It is my impression that carbing temps should be right around fermenting temps. I know this true for ales and I assume the same for lagers.

Lagers are fine to bottle condition at room temp. How long has it been in the bottle. I imagine if you give it a couple of weeks everything will settle out and be fine.

bottle time is around 1 1/2 weeks i beleve, i didnt write it down lol. i was just worried about an infection. this was the first batch in which i used liquid yeast and wasnt sure if it was just yeast or i had a bad infection.

I have my first lager sitting in secondary at the moment. I was told after bottling it needs to prime at 70f for 4 weeks?? or until carbonated and then to store at cellar temp.

By the way...what temperature is cellar temp?

I'm no lager lager expert, since I've only made one lager! But, after lagering in the secondary for 4 weeks, I bottled and kept the bottles around 60 degrees until carbonated. "Cellar temperature" is about 55 degrees, I believe.

hmm, only thing i have close to a natural cave is my Fridge and im pretty sure its below 55F. Im keeping them in our second bathroom closet its dark but its temp is no 55f lol.

lol not in FLA the garage is like an oven during the day if it gets above 80 the sun beats down on the aluminium door and its not climate controlled so it just heats up to high temps during the day
